Razib, I'd be interested in a podcast with Peter Gray of the Play Makes Us Human substack, if you can get him on.

I enjoyed reading the history of Slavs. My great grandparents came from Eastern Europe. I have heard here and there Slavs and Hungarians weren't considered white at one time and I'm starting to read more about that.

I'm a free subscriber on a tight budget at the moment, so I couldn't read everything. Perhaps in the future I can upgrade.

Love all your work/podcasts Razib and thanks for what you do. Listen to virtually all your conversations and here are about a dozen of the guests I would really like to hear on your show in 2024:

Richard Dawkins (never heard him interviewed to talk on genetics revolution, and would have some interesting reflections on some of the historic characters of his field)

David Epstein (author of the "Sports Gene" & "Range")

Steve Sailer (obviously controversial but has some genuinely interesting insights that have been ahead of the mainstream - and you already had Charles Murray and Rufo so not afraid of a controversial guest)

Spencer Wells (what has he been up to since podcasting with you?)

Richard Wrangham (on how his cooking/self domestication theory is holding up with new research)

David Hackett Fischer (rarely heard him interviewed on a podcast like yours)

Monte Reel (author of fascinating book "Between Man and Beast" which discusses social history of European discovery of the gorilla right close to the time evolution debated in Victorian society - never heard him interviewed about it anywhere)

Redmond O'Hanlon (an eccentric English explorer with tonnes of anecdotes having met with Yamomami, Congo pygmies, did a great YouTube series on Victorian explorers and Darwin's Beagle voyage, and isn't interviewed nearly enough, perhaps a long shot as not on social media to easily contact but if you can would really love him on your show)

Hannah Ritchie (author of new book "Not the End of the World" a more positive than usual look at humans confronting environmental challenges)

Alice Evans (discussing her work on her Substack "The Great Gender Divergence")

Adam Kuper (author of "The Museum of Other People" on history and present of anthropological museums), Aris Roussinos reviewed this book and would be another interesting guest on all his work covering world affairs

Kelsey Piper (on her work as a journalist covering AI and futuristic technology on the "Future Perfect" newsletter)

Matt Lakeman (travels to and writes fascinating profiles of various countries on his blog - currently going all around Africa - not sure if possible but could be a fascinating guest)

Also not as a specific guest request, but would also love it if your show had a review segment maybe once every other month or something. Not in format of interview with the author, but more like a book club discussion with a couple of other selected guests about any book/documentary/film/podcast/news article (can be either old/new or love/hate) on history, evolution, genetics, current culture or anything else you are interested in. It would be great to hear you and other interesting people you invite on give commentary and analysis discussion on various topics as well as do interviews.

Is there any confirmation of Linnaeus' suggestion of his evolutionary concept of "strive to evolve".

I think I read in one of your previous posts (or heard a podcast maybe) about CW and Afanasievo (?) individuals having been identified as cousins despite living thousands of kms apart. Wasn't IBD used in those cases to establish those ancient individuals as relatives? Am I missing something?

PS: There's a typo. "escape value for" => "escape valve for"
